    I've been meaning to ask - I see you're in Alabama, but based on the spelling of your name and a few other clues (like gumbo for dinner), what's your Cajun connection?

    Hi !! My dad's family goes back around 4 generations in Louisiana, and my great-grandfather was once Chief of Police in Alexandria. My dad's dad spoke nothing but French/Cajun until he was 12, and my dad was born and raised in New Orleans. I lived an hour from N.O. until right after Katrina, and I ended up in Alabama where my mom's and husband's family is. I still go to N.O. and LA several times a year- in fact getting ready to head down for a few parades in the next few weeks !! Laissez Bon Temps Roulez !!
